Call for Posters

Poster Proposal Submission Deadline: March 25, 2011

You are invited to submit a poster for presentation at the summit, Transforming Transportation. The summit will cover a wide range of topics related to transportation, described in the following program strands:

What is the Purpose of a Poster Session?

Poster sessions provide an excellent opportunity for attendees to informally discuss their work with conference participants. The poster author(s) must be present during the entire poster session in order to maximize time for dialogue with other participants.

Poster Guidelines

Present a poster on processes, practices, or research related to transforming transportation.

Students and practitioners are encouraged to submit posters.

Your proposal should include the following information. A list of the poster titles and authors will be included in the summit program. The proposal should be limited to 1 page:

  1. Name(s) and title(s) of author(s). If more than one, indicate with an asterisk (*) who the contact person is.
  2. Contact information (of contact person): Address, phone and fax numbers, email address, website address (if applicable), etc.
  3. Poster title (and sub-title if applicable).
  4. Abstract describing the poster, limited to 200 words. The abstract may contain a link to a website with more information.
  5. Note which program strand the poster targets (listed above).
  6. Note which type of poster set-up you will use (see Poster Types and Dimensions)

Poster Types and Dimensions

You can choose among three poster set-ups.

Poster Board Display

If you choose to mount your poster on a poster board, your poster should be no larger than 4 feet x 4 feet.  Your poster will be mounted using velcro.

Easel

If you choose to place your poster on an easel, your poster should be on a board that is thick enough to stand upright on the easel. Your poster should be no larger than 3 feet tall x 2 feet wide.

Table Top

If you choose to have a table top display, you can bring your own laptop to display your presentation and/or you can place materials on the table that is 6 feet long.

General Information for Poster Submissions

  • Submission of a proposal constitutes a commitment by the senior author, if accepted, to present during the poster session, register, and pay the registration fee.
  • Email your proposal and abstract to Julie Crowgey at crowgeyj@gmail.com no later than March 25, 2011. You will be notified by email regarding the acceptance of your poster proposal by March 28, 2011.
  • All correspondence will be limited to the designated contact person.
